July 4th 2016 Fireworks and Celebrations in the Greater Waterbury CT Area

It will be a busy week of celebrations of the July 4th holiday in the Greater Waterbury CT area. It's a Birthday Celebration, number 240 for our nation. While a relatively young country by comparison to some in the world, we are still viewed as the greatest Democratic society in the world.

 July 4th 2016 Fireworks and Celebrations in the Greater Waterbury CT Area

There will be celebrations with parades, picnics, family activities and fun for all with many towns capping the evening with fireworks.

Here is a partial listing of fireworks displays that will be offered in the Greater Waterbury CT area this week.

 

The Naugatuck CT fireworks display is scheduled for Thursday June 30. This year they will be held on Old Firehouse Rd in the downtown area. The festivities will begin at 6 PM with various street entertainers and a DJ. The fireworks will go off at 9:15 PM.

Cheshire CT will hold their celebrations on the town green at 10:am on July 4th with the reading of the Declaration of Independence and a commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Lake Compounce in Bristol CT will hold its fireworks display at 9:30 PM, on Saturday July 2. Lake Compounce has the distinction of being the longest continuous running amusement park in the United States.

Middlebury CT will have 3-D fireworks at Lake Quassy Amusement Park at app 10:15 PM on Monday July 4.

Thomaston CT will have its 51th July 4th Children's parade at 11:00 AM on Old Northfield Rd, through the downtown area.

Waterbury CT will hold its fireworks display again from the top of the centrally located Holy Land area July 2th at dusk. There will be no access to the Holy Land site, but a list of best viewing places has been posted at the City web site.
