Not All the Ducks Flew South for the Winter

As we were taking our morning walk today we took a turn that brought us to the edge of a park.  There we saw a sight that was strange for us especially as we had always thought that the smarter birds, and ducks all flew south to warmer climates for the winter.

There  was a 'plump' of ducks on the side of a home that could easily have surpassed 80. They were mallards and ere mixed between males and females. There was a running stream there as well and they would jump in to get in a few strokes as well.

Could it be that we here in Southern New England are warm enough for these ducks to want to stick around?
