Ed's Chesprocott Region Blog: Halloween Display in Prospect CT

Halloween Display in Prospect CT

Our Halloween displays are modest and it is more for the activity we don't get more than anything else.  Our street is a small cul-de-sac of 12 homes and is separated from the neighboring streets by a very busy thoroughfare.

We still out put some lawn and door displays for the few kids that do venture out.  At the high point of the night we may get as many as 10 kids, some of which are relatives of the few kids that do live on the street. It has been interesting over the years to see the kids grow up and eventually they aren't there at all, being too old for the night.

I had a little help over the weekend as Grandson Raphael helped with the displays along the walks and gathering the leaves for the pumpkin leaf bags.

We also put out the inside candle pumpkins on the fireplace.  They will get lit for the night.

And then of course, there is the candy.  My wife buys our candy early and gets enough to cover for the evening losses we tend to get in the house.  It is an unexplained Halloween phenomena as the candy just seems to disappear in thin air.

I just hope it gets replenished before Saturday as it would be a shame that the Trick or Treaters should pain the penalty for mysterious losses inside the house.

Aloha Ed,

Your Japanese Maples are amazing! There is a device that can detect and find the source of the paranormal activity that has resulted in the mysterious disappearance of the contents of your candy bowl, it's the bathroom scale.

Ed you've still got the spirit going!  We don't get any kids anymore - which is a bummer because it was so fun to see the kids all dressed up.  I still do put up some decorations - just for fun!

Hi Ed,

I miss living in an area with trick or treaters.  We live up on a mountain and we get no one!

Hi Ed, mystery of missing candy!! Would you happen to know who is walking away with them? Like Cindy, we don't get anyone at my house, I do miss living in a subdivision and making kids happy.

Someone has gotten into the candy bowl. I usually have to hide it from my hubby until Halloween and then if there is any left he can have some.

Look at all the wonderful colors in the shrubbery.  Must be beautiful there right now.
