Ed's Chesprocott Region Blog: It's Colorful in our Yard in Prospect CT

It's Colorful in our Yard in Prospect CT

I had the opportunity to work in the yard today, and as I was finishing up the lawn, I just had to step back and appreciate the spring  flowers in the yard.

At the bottom of the driveway, the flox is in bloom in the lower garden and the daffodils are still hanging strong even though it's been a little cooler than  we would like.

Along the driveway the tulips are scarce.  The squirrels must have been busy after the bulbs, and the astilbe is starting to pick up. The buds are out on the azaleas and the laurels as well.

Of course there are some flowers in the yard that are not going to be around very long, and their appearance is never appreciated

They were gone quickly, as they spread way too quickly.

Hi Ed Silva ,  We had a warm week last week here and eveything is now coming to life.  What a contrast from the dead of Winter.

Ed, good for you for getting outside! And most of these plants, I understand what you're talking about. And I might add that some of those weeds really are kinda pretty, but I get the idea of getting rid of them.

Ed, what a beautiful yard you have! Ours is suffering terribly since my husband had his stroke last summer. Maybe this year I will be able to get to some of it.

That's a beautiful landscape, Ed!  I have enjoyed the blossoms of spring this year more than I can remember in the past.  Perhaps, it was the years of California drought that has brought this appreciation.

Ed, the bottom photo?  Now that's my yard.  My next door neighbor nags me, but I call them perennials!

Good morning Ed Silva .  That is a beautiful landscape. Most of our flowering trees have done their thing and now it's time for the vegetables.

Good morning Ed. You're right, slowly but surely am starting to see more colors in our yard as well.

Beautiful landscape!  I love the pictures, even the dandelions.  Flowers are a welcome sight after such chilly temps!

Ed, what a pretty yard, and so fun to see the seasonal bulbs bloom.   Our tulips made it through a couple very heavy snowstorms.
