Ed's Chesprocott Region Blog: Hopefully the Last Snow Fall for the Winter of 2018 in Prospect CT

Hopefully the Last Snow Fall for the Winter of 2018 in Prospect CT

A Nor'Easter'  visits the North East and dumps a Bunch of Snow

It has been a bit mild for our Prospect CT winter and for those of us that look to something other than a rodent for indications of an early spring. The wait for warmer weather just got a little longer.

The groundhog predicted another 6 weeks of winter back in early February, and for a while it seemed he was wrong as the daffodils were starting to peek out from under their winter cover; a little yard clean-up was started and I even had a chance to play a little spring golf as a few of the courses opened up.

Then our reality of life in New England hit.  Storm Elsa visited with strong winds and snow accumulations that went as deep as 18" in Connecticut. In our town of Prospect CT the snow fall hit a foot and it was very heavy, so trees and shrubs are struggling with the weight.

In a couple of trees in our yard, the weight battle was lost. When the snow melts, it will be chain saw before rakes.

The view this morning in Prospect CT is far removed from the view we had just a short two weeks ago.

Hi Ed, pictures are beautiful but I wouldn't want to experience it in person. Enjoy while it lasts!

Ed, hope the heavy wet snow doesn't break too many branches, and after this snow melts, you see no more.

Hi Ed... great to see you back, my friend! We have friends who just moved back to CT from Charlotte in November... it's been a rude awakening.

There is no question that your part of the country is being hammered with ill tempered weather, Ed.  I hope things improve before long.

Hi Ed - between Friday's storm and the one yesterday I have had my fill.  This one was really wet and heavy.

Ed, welcome back, bud!! And it's all about the weather....yup, we had 19 degrees here just a couple of days ago and snow, too in late Feb. I think. I was off in Florida tending to my mom post-op heart surgery when they got hit here pretty good.

Were you in FL or Hawaii?? Do tell!
