Ed's Chesprocott Region Blog: If You Get You Have to Give

If You Get You Have to Give

If You Get You Have to Give

In a society where too many people take so much for granted almost as if it is an entitlement, we should take any opportunity we can to teach a lesson. Such is the case with the recent series of blogs I posted trying to help my grandson Raphael.

Calling All Active-Rainers Need Some Help For A School Project

Life lessons should be taught at an early age and we should always take the opportunity to teach when appropriate.

If You Get You Have to Give

Raphael was able to reach out to family members for his school challenge and get postcards from several states. I asked him if he wanted my help to try and get a few extra.  As the postcards arrived we created a database of addresses of the senders with the intention of returning the gesture in a similar way.

For all that took the time to send a card, we greatly appreciated the effort and you should have received a token of appreciation from Raphael and myself as well.

Hopefully down the road, this learning experience will have taken a strong place in the boy's mind and he will remember to express his appreciation then as well.

Hi Ed... I've always believed that if you give openly you'll get without even asking for something. It's karma.

Ed some of our most valuable lessons are learned at an early age, and I am sure that this is one that will have a positive impact Raphael and how he responds to the request of others in the future.

Ed, Thanks to Raphael for the lighthouse postcard!  I think I might recognize 1 or 2 of them.  I used to visit CT fairly regularly on business (I had suppliers in Woodstock, Bridgeport, New London and Mystic).  Bill
